The busy Arran ferry service will tomorrow (Tues 8 Oct) return to Ardrossan Harbour following two days worth of diversions and cancellations.

The failure of both linkspans in Ardrossan have seen the MV Caledonian Isles use Troon as an emergency measure since Sunday 6th October 2019.

However from 9:45am tomorrow morning the Arran ferry will recommence services from Ardrossan on a passenger only basis for the day.

Calmac have issued the following information:

Due to the continued failure of both linkspans at Ardrossan, and poor weather forecast preventing us from berthing at Troon, we will be operating a Passenger Only service between Brodick and Ardrossan, weather permitting, as follows:

Depart Brodick – 08:20, 11:05, 13:55 and 16:40
Depart Ardrossan – 09:45, 12:30, 15:20 and 18:00

As a result of the vessel berthing overnight in Brodick on Monday 7th, the 07:00 sailing from Ardrossan is cancelled.

Due to a poor weather forecast, the vessel will berth overnight in Brodick, resulting in the cancellation of the 19:20 sailing from Brodick.

Please note that these sailings will be passenger only and we will be unable to carry any vehicles or bicycles.

CalMac is continuing to exert pressure on Peel Ports to bring the Ardrossan Linkspan back into service. Investigations remain ongoing and we hope to resolve the issue with the linkspan as soon as possible.

There will be a review for services on Wednesday 9th October at 16:00 on Tuesday.
